HRP Group (HRP), a vertically integrated, multi-strategy real estate investment company specializing in the transformation of complex industrial sites into sustainably built developments, is celebrating Earth Day 2026 through a series of community-based environmental initiatives across its project markets.
Creating jobs, improving the environment, and bolstering local economies by revitalizing often-overlooked properties are core pillars to HRP’s work, and the company maintains a strong commitment to hands-on community engagement and impactful partnerships both on and around project sites. In honor of this year's Earth Day, HRP is partnering with local organizations in Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, and Alexandria, Virginia to support tree planting, neighborhood cleanups and philanthropy throughout the spring season.
“At HRP, our commitment to a holistic approach to redevelopment is a core value of our company and the transformational work we do across cities and communities,” said HRP CEO Roberto Perez. “On Earth Day and every day, we are proud to roll up our sleeves to give back to the neighborhoods where we live and work. From planting trees alongside our community partners to cleanups that beautify neighborhoods, these projects are reflections of our long-term commitment to building and supporting healthy, thriving communities.”
HRP's Philadelphia team, which is focused on the redevelopment of a former 1,300-acre oil refinery into a modern industrial and innovation hub at The Bellwether District, joined community members for Spring Fest at Bartram’s Garden, where The Bellwether District was recognized as a sponsor of PHL250’s 52 Weeks of Firsts initiative recognizing Bartram’s Garden as the nation’s first botanical garden. The company also announced $51,000 in grant awards to local nonprofits through the Touchdowns for Sustainability program in partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles, which supports environmentally focused organizations in South and Southwest Philadelphia.
The HRP team in Boston, where the company is redeveloping the former Boston Edison power plant at 776 Summer Street, joined the Friends of North of Broadway ahead of Earth Day for a community-wide cleanup. Volunteers helped beautify local parks and the Boston Harborwalk, reinforcing HRP’s shared commitment to neighborhood revitalization.
In Alexandria, Virginia, where HRP is redeveloping the former Potomac River Generating Station power plant that includes more than 10 acres of new and improved public open space, HRP team members are supporting springtime philanthropy by sponsoring Spring2Action, Alexandria’s annual day of giving. HRP is also continuing its ongoing partnership with Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail, through which team members participate in trail cleanups located near the project site.
The HRP team in Chicago is providing a contribution to support Beyond the Ball and its mission to create and activate shared community spaces. This year’s contribution helps sustain and enhance the spaces where the organization brings its work to life—including ongoing care and beautification of its community garden as well as support for its new office’s outdoor space.
This year's Earth Day efforts build on HRP's mission to responsibly remediate and redevelop complex sites in ways that enhance the environment, neighboring communities and local economies. By working closely with community partners, HRP aims to make a lasting impact that extends beyond its project boundaries.
